How to measure?

To measure exactly which size of Norrøna is most suitable for you, you will first need a tape measure. It is best to ask someone else to take your measurements while you stand straight and relaxed without shoes. Try not to pull the measuring tape too tight, but also not too loose around the body. Avoid bulky clothing. For the most accurate results, have only your undergarments or close-fitting clothes on, such as a base layer.

  • Chest size (Image 1.1): Measure the widest part of your chest. Place the measuring tape under your armpits and wrap it around the widest part of your chest.
  • Hips (Image 1.2): Measure the circumference of your hips. Place the measuring tape on your hip bone, wrap it around your bottom and back to where you started. Make sure it is level.
  • Seat (Image 1.3 and Image 2.2): Measure the widest part of your buttocks. Ensure that the measuring tape is horizontal.
  • Arm length (Image 1.4): Place your hand on your waist and measure your arm from the top of your shoulder bone, via your elbow, to your wrist.
  • Waist (Image 2.1): Measure around your waist
  • Inseam (Image 2.3): From a standing position, measure the length from your crotch to your ankle bone.

Men's fit

In total, Norrona uses four different terms to describe the fit of their men's garments, ranging from tight to loose. This classification makes it easier to choose the right fit, depending on your preference and activity. Below is an overview of the fits, arranged from tight to loose.

Upper body clothing

The fit describes the width of the body and arms of the outer garment. The arm length and length of the outer garment are not affected by the fit.

  • Slim fit: Typically made for high-intensive activities like running. This fit is made to follow the body shape, and create a minimal room between the body and the jacket. Works best with layers that also have a slim or technical fit, not room for a lot of extra stuff under the jacket.
  • Technical fit: Typically made for mountain biking or mountaineering/climbing. The fit is made for perfect balance between allowing multiple layers underneath, but the jacket should not restrict movement or view when climbing or mountaineering.
  • Regular fit: Typically made for Skiing/snowboarding, outdoor and hunting. The fit is made to have room for multiple extra layering plus other necessary equipment like avalanche transceivers or body protection.
  • Relaxed fit: Typically made for Skiing/snowboarding, outdoor and hunting. The fit is made for having room for multiple extra layering plus other necessary equipment like avalanche transceivers and/or body protection.

Lower body clothing

  • Slim fit: Typically made for high intensive activities like running, or tights in various types. This fit is made to follow the body shape, and create a minimal room between the body and the pant. The pants will always be made in materials with a lot of stretch.
  • Technical fit: Typically made for mountain biking or mountaineering/climbing. The fit is made for perfect balance between allowing a layer underneath and following the body shape, and not restrict movements when climbing/mountaineering or mountain biking. And not getting stuck in crampons or the bicycle chain or seat.
  • Regular fit: Typically made for outdoor and hunting. The fit is made for having room for extra layering or a little more room in general.
  • Relaxed fit: Typically made for Skiing/snowboarding products. The fit is made for having room for multiple extra layering plus fitting over snowboard, alpine or ski touring boots.
